Tywyn School is situated on the south-eastern fringe of the Sandfields Estate, Port Talbot. It provides mainstream education for pupils from its local community and a specialist teaching provision for pupils with special educational needs from within the County Borough of Neath Port Talbot.

1. To ensure pupils make effective progress in line with the expectations of Curriculum for Wales by developing a shared understanding of progression
2. To develop parental engagement across the school and improve community involvement
3. To improve oracy across the school
4. To improve pupil attendance
5. To improve the pupils’ literacy skills, in particular phonics and reading
